As an independent, local business it has never been more important to take steps to reduce our carbon admissions, to both safeguard our planet and our business. That’s why just five months ago we took full advantage of the Low Carbon Workspaces Grant and installed 90 solar panels on to the roof of our factory, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision.
Together For Our Plant
Independent businesses like Coulon Stone have long been recognised as trailblazer’s, and with this in mind the government’s environmental campaign, ‘Together For Our Plant’ urged independent businesses to lead the way to net zero carbon emissions.
So in July 2021 we made some big changes to our factory including the 90 solar panels and a water recycling system, with hopes of reducing our carbon emissions. And we’re excited to share with our customer’s that this week we received our Low Carbon Workspace Certificate, confirming we’ve saved 6.1 tonnes of carbon in just five months, that’s the weight of an African Elephant.
Our future plans for lowering our carbon admissions
We couldn’t be happier with our decision to make these changes to our business, and stride towards lowering our carbon admissions. Next we plan on replacing our cars with fully electric ones so watch this space.
